IP address question I have ?

Question

I keep having to manually put in my IP address. In the morning I will wake up and have to put it in by going into the internet protocol TCP/IP.

It is driving crazy, I had to work an hour and half to get this back online. I also have to update the driver every time also, modem upgrade it is. I tried using a new modem but nothing was connecting that way, so I went back to my old modem. ( modem westell 6100)

I have Verizon.

Problems liek this often dont get corrected easily, if i was you, i would go to a store specialising in computers, even somewhere liek comet, buy a new modem, and internet equipment but get them to come and install it for you, its a little extra money, but worth it in the logn run because they VERY rarely stop working (: x

The Westell 6100 is a modem/router

Download the manual for the 6100 and follow the instructions to access the router

On the LAN setup page, enable DHCP

On the WAN page set it to automaticly load DNS servers

Now set your computer to automatically obtain an IP address and automatically obtain DNS servers

That should set you up
