iPAQ 1950 has worked fine for 2 years. Suddenly it will not connect to my PC to allow sync via activesync. Nothing has changed on the PC or the handheld. Checked all suggestions given by Activesync help sites (connection settings, firewall settings, etc.) This problem has come up a few times over the past 2 years. but a reboot of both devices usually solved it. Now nothing seems to help. When I open activesync on the PC and go to file/conncetion settings I have the ability to "ping" the USB port that I am using to connect the handheld. With the handheld connected and turned on (logged in via password) I ping the the port and get the response "Device Not Detected" . This happens even though Activesync starts automatically when I plug the handheld into the USB port (the PC also indicates a network connection when I plug the handheld in. One last thing. On the handheld, if I go into Activesync under status, I see an error code 608 (no explanation of what that is). Any help you can provide is greatly apreciated. Handheld works great. Just can no longer sync up to Outlook on any PC. (PS: I ordered an replacement sync cable in case it's a hardware issue). Thanks.
