IPL 5 – Deccan Chargers vs Rajasthan Royals – Match Preview
Deccan Chargers will face http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792.
The home team started from the bottom of the points table and remained there throughout the season. Consequently, now it is just playing for pride and has no chance of qualifying for the next stage of the tournament.
Rajasthan on the other hand is still alive in the event and has to win its last two encounters to qualify for the play-offs. It is currently standing at number seven in the points table with 14 points after as many matches.
Australian all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, has infused a lot of energy in the Royals. The champion all-rounder has been terrific with both bat and ball in the event and may play a crucial role for the franchise,
if the Royals are to move forward in the tournament.
One gets a feeling that if Deccan has any chance of dismantling the Royals today, they will have to restrict Watson’s progress, who has been a great servant for the franchise since the very first season of the cash-rich league.
Rajasthan was off to an impressive start in the tournament but struggled in the middle of the season. However, the senior players of the team have taken the responsibility on their shoulders and the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brad-Hodge-c1184,
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SW-Tait-c2616 have been absolutely brilliant.
The Royals faced a setback earlier in the season when their premier all-rounder, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780. Rajasthan has a brilliant run-rate this season and
a win today will enhance its chances of clinching the title.
On the other side of the coin, Deccan has nothing to lose in the tournament now and can play freely without any fear. The Chargers have been the real disappointment of the current season and have failed to live up to the expectations,
even in the presence of some world-class players.
Deccan’s coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KC-Sangakkara-c1779 and expressed that the former Sri Lankan skipper has tried his level best to get the most out of the players but quite unfortunately, they have not
responded to the captain.
Lehmann admits that Sangakkara should have scored more runs in the tournament but he believes that ‘form is temporary but class is permanent’.
The former Australian cricketer said, "He is a champion and our captain and has done a wonderful job behind the scenes. Obviously he would have liked more runs but we have a special man, who looks after all the players. I'm sure he'll
turn his form around in the near future."
Considering the fact that Sangakkara is one of the modern-greats, one should not be surprised if he plays an extra-ordinary innings before the season finishes.
Lehmann is disappointed that his players could not perform well in the on-going season but hopes that they will show improvement next year.
"Younger guys are learning, the more experience they get the better they become in those situations. As long as they learn from their mistakes as a coach I am happy.I want our players to have fun. There is a lot passion for cricket
in India but it still has to be fun,” expressed Lehmann.
On the current form, Rajasthan will start the match as firm-favourites as Dravid and company are geared up to end the season on a high by finishing in the top four.
