IPL final may be shifted from Chennai: BCCI – Cricket News Update
The Board Of Control For Cricket In India is contemplating shifting the finals of the tournament from Chennai, owing to the lack of official clearance, which has led to a several stands remaining empty throughout the matches played at the venue during the
current season.
“We have witnessed amazing response at all the venues of this year's IPL. It will be a pity if the final is played in front of a half-empty stadium. Therefore, the possibility of shifting the matches from Chennai is being explored,” an official from the
board confirmed to the PTI.

This amounts to near 12,000 seats which have gone empty because they have yet to receive clearance from the city’s planning department.
While the board had been informed that the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tamil-Nadu-c853 Cricket Association would obtain the required approval, the matter is far from resolved, and the board is looking to consider another venue.
“But now we are heading towards the business end of the IPL and there is still no sign of the matter being resolved,” the board official went on to explain. “Whatever decision needs to be taken has to be done within a week as a lot of work is required when
you shift matches to a new venue.”
The lack of crowds at the four-decade-old Chepauk stadium is in stark contrast to the rest of the venues which have hosted IPL matches this season, during which ticket sales have soared - a prime example is the much-hyped clash between the Pune http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warriors-c861
and Kolkata Knight Riders, which was played in front of a sold-out crowd at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
