Does the money used to bid for them go to the BCCI or to the players themselves?

Also who are the top 3 most expensive players in the auction? and who are the top 3 most paid players?

I need this for a talk i need to do so some help would be greatly appreciated

the money used to buy them goes to the IPL franchiser i.e. the company that organises the tournament. Dunno about the rest sorry.

The money used in bidding on IPL players goes to the players themselves.

The three most expensive players in the auction were:

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, India - Chennai, US$1.5 million

Andrew Symonds, Australia    - Hyderabad, US$1.35 million

Sanath Jayasuriya, Sri Lanka - Mumbai, US$975,000

The three highest paid players were:

Mahendra Singh Dhoni, India - Chennai, US$1.5 million

Andrew Symonds, Australia    - Hyderabad, US$1.35 million

Sachin Tendulkar, India,         - Mumbai, US$1.121 million

The three highest paid players who weren't bidded on, that is, the 'icon' players for each team, were:

Sachin Tendulkar, India, - Mumbai, US$1.121 million

Sourav Ganguly, India,   - Kolkata, US$1.092 million

Yuvraj Singh, India,         - Mohali, US$1.064 million

Reportedly, next year they are doing away with the $5 million caps for the franchises and players may individually earn up to $15 million.
