IPL will exhaust cricketers, says Nasser Hussain – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nasser-Hussain-c78777, the former English skipper, has warned the International cricket governing bodies against the enticing spell of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which, he thinks, seduces cricketers with its lucrative incentives and fatigues them by an overdose
of the game.
Nasser argued that the English players, after whitewashing the npower Test series against India and becoming world’s top Test team, are on the hit list of the league organisers who will maneuver to hire them for the next edition of the cash-rich tournament.
He has advised http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 Cricket Board (ECB) to prevent its players from plunging into the IPL which may prove to be fatal for them.
Talking to the media today, he said, “They are going to be enticed by IPL money. Come and play, come and play. All of this cricket would have been on [television] in India. [Graeme] Swann, [Stuart] Broad and [Chris] Tremlett ... they'll all be offered decent
money.”
The ex-captain opines that the IPL has benefited Team India to a great extent but now it is hindering their progress. He believes that the Men in Blue have become World Champions for the second time in their history due to playing three successfully seasons
of their domestic tournament.
He told, “There's no doubting it helped their one-day game. I think they wouldn't have been world champions if it wasn't for IPL. I think it has massively helped. But it is now going to hinder them - as we have seen here - in Test match cricket.”
In the backdrop of Team http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750’s 0-4 defeat in the Test series, the IPL has come under fire as most of the cricket experts opine that the league is responsible for the team’s dismal show against the Poms. Their concerns are based on the fact that the 74-match
long IPL-4 exhausted the players and rendered most of them unfit to compete in International environment.
Nasser also backs this notion. The former cricketer played 96 Test and 88 ODI games during his international career. In these days, his anti-India statements are making headlines.
