Adam Gilchrist, skipper Kings XI Punjab, is thrilled with the way things are unfolding at the moment in IPL5. The left-hander batter from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 to keep their winning momentum going.
Punjab are currently placed at fifth position in the Indian Premier League points table, after registering wins in three out of their last four fixtures. The team co-owned by Bollywood Queen, Preity Zinta, has a chance to make
it to the play-offs of IPL, but for that to happen they must not get complacent and take every game seriously.
Gilchrist has urged his men not to let their guards down even against struggling teams, as the format is very unpredictable.
The 40-year-old said, “We are not looking at the points table with any great interest other than the fact that it feels good to be up there among the top teams. In this tournament, everyone can beat everyone else. Every game is
important and we will try and continue to maintain winning streak.”
Kings XI Punjab are due to face Rajasthan Royals next in their IPL campaign. The match is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 5 at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali.
Royals, led by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Dravid-c2229, India’s iconic batsman, are low on confidence. The champions of inaugural IPL trophy are at seventh spot and have suffered four back to back defeats.
However, despite their poor-run in the last few games, Gilchrist knows that Dravid and his men are fully capable of turning the tables upon Punjab, just like they did when the two sides met at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on
Friday, April 6.
Wary of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajasthan-c837 Royals, Gilchrist said, “The reality is that Rajasthan beat us first game. We don't expect them to be any lesser team just because they have had few reverses in the last week or so.”
Gilchrist has not been part of Kings XI Punjab in last five games. The former Australian cricketer is suffering from a hamstring injury and the date of his return is still not known.
When asked about his return, Gilchrist said, “I don't want to speculate on that any further until I am well and truly fit and available.”
