Chargers, who had lost five matches on the trot prior to Friday's game, brought an end to their losing streak by defeating the tourists, who set the hosts an easy 127 to win the match.
Deccan bowlers were seemingly unplayable on the day, with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pratap-Singh-c2209, both of whom chipped in with
two wickets apiece.
The tourists’ skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Dravid-c2229, won the toss and in a bid to post a big total on board for Deccan Chargers to chase, decided to bat first.
However, things did not turn out as Dravid had planned, as Rajasthan Royals’ inform batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ajinkya-Rahane-c970 fell early, failing to negotiate Steyn.
The speedster bowled a full-pitched away swinger to Rahane (6), who nicked it to slips where Dhawan did the needful.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, came in to bat at number three. The star all-rounder along with his skipper tried to stabilise the innings as the duo put on 33 runs for the second wicket.
However, Mishra intervened before Watson and Dravid could take the match away from Deccan’s reach. The leg-spinner showed http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Watson-c96326 his way back to the pavilion on the very first ball that he bowled in the match.
Mishra dragged things back further by dismissing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stuart-Binny-c2589. The right-handed batter was setup nicely by the bowler, who bowled a wrong one out side the off-stump. The batsman tried to cut the ball; thinking it would spin away,
however, the ball spun back in to hit the stumps.
Wickets kept on falling after regular intervals and this hampered the flow of runs for Rajasthan. The visitors, who were in a must-win situation, never got off their strides as their innings came to a close on 126.
Rajasthan bowlers tried their level best to make a match out of the total, but Deccan were the favourites after the opening stand of 63 runs between Dhawan and PA Reddy.
