IPL5: Deccan Chargers will not be taken lightly asserts http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Thirumalai-Ananthanpillai-Sekhar-c93209 – Cricket News Update
Former Indian pacer, Thirumalai Sekhar, has said that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils will come out firing from all corners against Deccan Chargers in the 55th game of Indian Premier League (IPL5), to be played at Rajiv Gandhi International
Stadium on Thursday, May 10, 2012.
Deccan Chargers, the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792 based franchise, are languishing at the bottom of the points table, having lost nine matches from 12 games. Daredevils, on the other hand, are well placed, registering 8 wins and require one more
to make it into the play-offs.
Despite having a clear advantage over their Thursday rivals, Sekhar said that Chargers will not be taken lightly.
“T20 is such a funny game. Any team can beat any team. We are not taking it lightly at all. Because, we are only 16 points, I think you need 17 to qualify this year. Still, four more matches go apart from this. We are playing with
the same intensity what we played in the previous matches,” said team mentor Sekhar.
For most part of IPL's 5th season, Delhi Daredevils had kept the number one spot. However, DD slipped down to number two after suffering a humiliating defeat to Kolkata Knight Riders on May 7.
The match resulted in KKR going on to take the top spot; however, Delhi Daredevils have a chance to reclaim the position, if they beat Deccan Chargers.
Sekhar said that DD have learned a lot from their previous outing. The former cricketer held that things could have turned out differently had Daredevils scored in excess of 170.
“If we had scored 170, then we were driving a good game,” said the 56-year-old. “Kolkata played very well. They had a very good opening partnership. We came back quite well getting two wickets in two balls but we had very less
runs on the board. May be, we were about 20 runs short last time.”
Sekhar admitted that the absence of English batsman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DA-Warner-c1301 will be the perfect replacement for the Englishman, who has
returned home to take on the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760.
