IPL5 – http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 – Match Preview
The stage is set for an epic showdown between Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab in the 64th game of Indian Premier League (IPL5), at Feroz Shah Kotla on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.
It is a must win fixture for Punjab, who are currently placed at seventh on the points table. Daredevils, who are at the top of the league table, would want to get back on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Thomas-George-Burrows-c93472heir winnings ways after suffering a humiliating nine
wicket loss to the defending champions Chennai Super Kings on May 12, 2012.
Delhi’s batting looked below par in the game, as they were restricted to a mere 114 runs. Delhi Daredevils' mentor, T.A. Sekar, believed that his side had an off-day and will bounce back in the match against Kings XI Punjab.
“We lost our top batsmen pretty quickly during the last match. There are times when a team loses three or four wickets in this format. It happens in T20 regularly. We should have played better cricket but we are not worried about
our loss,” said Sekar.
The availability of Punjab’s regular skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Gilchrist-c918, is still not confirmed. The left-hander’s injury is much better now, however, he still believes that he is not match fit.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Hussey-c1380 will continue to lead Punjab in Gilchrist’s absence. The Australian international has advised his side not to falter against Delhi Daredevils, as they will pounce upon the slightest of weakness.
On the eve of their match against Daredevils, Hussey said, “We are playing Delhi on Tuesday and it's a big game for us and we need to play equally well to get two points and move ahead. The boys are confident of putting up a good
show.”
The pitch at Feroz Shah Kotla is flat and provides little assistance to bowlers. Batsman will dominate the game, however, the team batting second will be in a better position, as the dew factor is likely to come into play later
in the innings.
