IPL5: http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils against complacency – Cricket News Update
Eric Simmons, head coach Delhi Daredevils, has warned his side against complacency ahead of their clash with Indian Premier League minnows, Deccan Chargers.
The former South African international has urged his players to give their cent percent in the match against Chargers, which will be played on Thursday, April 19 at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi.
Daredevils have become strong contenders for IPL5 trophy with a good show in the opening half of the tournament and are placed second in the points table. Deccan Chargers, on the other hand, are yet to register a win and are placed
at the bottom of the table.
Despite going into the match as clear favourites, Simmons believes that DD will have to be at their toes if they want to overcome Chargers. The South African still considers them a potent threat.
At the pre-match press conference, Simmons said, “In this form of the game, you can't take anyone lightly... the underdogs have nothing to lose. They (Chargers) are a very good side, they have match winners in their side. We are
going to give them respect as a cricket team.”
Delhi has suffered one defeat in the tournament so far and that to Royal Challengers Bangalore. But Daredevils are on a winning streak since the return of star batsmen http://www.senore.com/Cricket/LRPL-Taylor-c1849. Daredevils
have devoured teams likes Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians so far in the tournament.
Simmons was thrilled with the fact that plans are being executed with precision. The Proteas international said, “Some days things go your way, some days they don't. So far the tactics have worked well for us. We have been concentration
on our games. Our batting line-up has been versatile and we want to make full use of that. The last two games we chased, so didn't get enough scope to experiment.”
A win over Deccan Chargers will see Delhi move to the top of the IPL points table displacing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warriors-c861 on Saturday, April 21.
