IPL5: Kolkata Knight Riders dislodges http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils to take the top spot – Cricket News Update
Kolkata Knight Riders butchered the Delhi Daredevils in the 51st game of the Indian Premier League (IPL5) to take the top-spot on the points table.
It was a one-sided affair at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi, which the visitors won comfortably by six wickets with eight deliveries still left to be played. KKR were set a target of 154 runs, however, the Kolkata based franchise chased
down the target with minimum hustle.

Later during KKR’s inning, Kallis played an impeccable knock of 30 runs that made the chase look easy.
Delighted with his efforts in the game, Kallis said, “It is nice to contribute with both bat and ball. It has been a fantastic season for the team. The wicket was good and the guys assessed the conditions well. It was good to deliver
on this sort of wicket.”
The win over Delhi Daredevils has stretched KKR’s unbeaten run to seven games and Kallis hoped that they show same intensity in the remaining games, so as to finish in the top two and make it into the finals of IPL.
“We need to carry on and do well. It is all about momentum and a couple of wins would put us with a good chance of making it to the play-offs,” said the Proteas international.
Sehwag, who has scored five back-to-back fifties for Delhi, felt dejected after the loss. The hard-hitting batsman blamed the defeat on bowlers who were giving away freebies to KKR’s batters. The right-hander also criticised his
fielders who were lethargic.
Sehwag said, “I think we were 20-25 runs short. We did not capitalise in the middle overs. 150-odd was not a bad total, our fielding and bowling was not upto the mark, when you are giving boundary balls, it is difficult to set
a field.”
