The owner of Pune Warriors’, Subrata Roy Sahara, has confirmed that the current season of Indian Premier League is the last for Sourav Ganguly as a cricketer. The iconic batsman will take the role of mentoring Warriors in the next season, Roy added.
The owner of the costliest IPL franchise further said that Ganguly, who is leading Pune Warriors in the current season, was never interested in the job at first place, as he wanted to mentor http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warriors-c861. However, he took the responsibility after Roy pushed him into it.
While giving an interview to NDTV, Roy said, “Sourav will be the mentor next season. We pushed him to play in IPL 5.”

Pune Warriors’ IPL5 campaign is as good as over. The side is currently languishing at the eight spot on the points table, after securing only 8 points from 13 games.
Warriors have three more games to play in this edition of the Indian Premier League and Sourav has decided to sit out of these games to give a chance to a youngster.
Roy said, “Sourav wants to give youngsters a chance in the last games.”
Ganguly and his men had a blistering start to their IPL5 campaign. Warriors won three of their first four fixtures; however, things started to change as the tournament progressed. Pune managed to win only a single match from the next nine games.
Ganguly’s own form was quite inconsistent and he received a lot of criticism from former cricketer and Hall of Famer, Bishen Singh Bedi. The left-arm alleged that the Prince of Calcutta is depriving a youngster and should call it a day.
