IPL5: http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 will not crumble under pressure asserts Stephen Fleming – Cricket News Update
The former http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Stephen-Paul-Fleming-c91190, has backed skipper of the CSK to come good in the upcoming matches of Indian Premier League.
Fleming admitted that Dhoni is under a lot of pressure at the moment but he believes that the wicket-keeper batsman will not crumble under pressure. The Kiwi international said that playing in stressful conditions is not new to Dhoni,
and the cricketer is fully equipped to handle pressure.
He said, “Yes he's under pressure but it's a pressure where he's thrived before and one that he lives with, day in and day out, playing for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750, so it's nothing new.”
CSK, the reigning champions of the IPL, have had a disastrous start to their campaign. The defending champions have lost two out of the three games that they have played so far.
So far, batting has been a major let down for the Chennai Super Kings. Dhoni in particular has been below his normal standards and has just scored 22 runs from three innings.
Fleming hopes that the batsman will find his midas touch, as CSK rely heavily on him and when he performs well, the team performs well. He said, “When he's playing well, nine times out of ten we win the matches. He has a desire
to win, so he will feel pressure to perform like all other players do, and him more so because he's a very talented player and a key component of this side.”
Chennai looked like a mediocre team in their last fixture against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 Daredevils. However, Fleming refused to accept that there is something wrong with the CSK team. The coach held that it’s just the start of the tournament,
and his side will get better as IPL progresses.
He said, “We are not an up-and-down side, we are usually consistent. It's too early to give you big synopses of what is going wrong; its two games we haven't played well.”
CSK face a daunting task of going up against one of the toughest sides in IPL5, the Royal Challengers Bangalore, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Thursday, April 12.
