IPL5: http://www.senore.com/Cricket/CH-Gayle-c1221’s wicket – Cricket News Update
Morne Morkel, the South African cricketer, who is representing the Delhi Daredevils in the fifth edition of the Indian Premier League, is hoping to subdue the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the fifth game of the tournament to be played at the M Chinnaswamy
Stadium, Bangalore on Saturday, April 7, 2012.
Morkel has targeted the wicket of Chris Gayle, the mainstay in the RCB batting order. The South African cricketer knows that the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Kohli-c2737 are equally dangerous but according to Morkel, seeing the back of Gayle early will lift
the morale of the team.
He said, “This year's RCB team is different from the last edition. Apart from (Chris) Gayle, Virat Kohli and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AB-de-Villiers-c887 have been playing well. Lot of confidence comes from Gayle. It would be nice to get him out early, but we have to respect all other
players.”
“Gayle, de Villiers and Virat are quality players. We are looking forward to go there in the middle and focus on getting our basics right,” Morkel added.
The right-arm pacer admitted that the RCB batting line-up looks good on paper. But the Proteas international reckons that the Daredevils have certain surprises up their sleeves. Amongst them is skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/V-Sehwag-c2739, who is one of the most feared batsmen
in international cricket at the moment.
Daredevils have a depleted squad with certain key players missing from action. New Zealand’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KP-Pietersen-c1806 are away on international duty.
Expecting the trio to make a return in the later stages of the tournament, Morkel said, “Consistency is the key. It is a long tournament. You want all of them in your dressing room. I think it would be fantastic for us. They are going to make a deadly combination.”
Despite the limited options, Delhi emerged victorious over the Kolkata Knight Riders in their opening fixture. Morkel played an integral role in that win, as the pacer picked up three wickets, which also included the prized scalps of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JH-Kallis-c1692 and KKR
skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/G-Gambhir-c1447.
