IPL5: RCB has beaten Delhi Daredevils before and can do it again boasts Tillakaratne Dilshan – Cricket News Update
The Sri Lankan born cricketer, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TM-Dilshan-c2691, in an attempt to lift Royal Challengers Bangalore’s morale, has said that they have a good chance of beating the IPL5 table-toppers Delhi Daredevils, in their next clash on Thursday,
May 17, 2012 at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium.
RCB, who currently sit at fifth spot after securing 15 points from 14 games, need to win their remaining two games in order to qualify for the play-offs.
Dilshan was confident that Bangalore will pull-off a victory, if they play to their potential. Hoping for no slip-ups against Delhi Daredevils, Dilshan said, “We will have to play our best cricket. We had beaten http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 in the first
round. They are a tough opposition and the team should do everything to win this.”
The Sri Lankan international, who was speaking to media personnel at the eve of their match against DD, further said that no team can be tagged favourites, as on paper they both are equals and in the end it will all come down to
who plays better on that very day.
“At the moment it is a good challenge for us. Both the teams are equal. We have an equal chance of winning but the team that plays better in all departments will win,” the 35-year-old said.
However, the right-hander believes that RCB has a slight edge over DD when it comes to batting.
Dilshan, who has so far played 8 games for RCB this season, scoring 271 runs at an average of 45.16, paid rich tribute to the young and aspiring batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mayank-Agarwal-c1937, the 21-year-old who clobbered 64 runs from 30 deliveries to
seal a win against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians.
Dilshan said, “He is a fantastic youngster. I told him that 'you are one of the best'. He's hitting and middling the ball well. The best thing is that he can bat at any position. RCB should give more opportunities to players like
Mayank.”
After the DD clash, Royal Challengers Bangalore will face the bottom ranked side, Deccan Chargers on Sunday, May 20.
