IPL5: Rahul Dravid lavishes praise on Ajinkya Rahane and Kevon http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Cooper-c51561 for winning the match – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kevon-Cooper-c71194, who played a key role in the 31-run win over Kings XI Punjab on Friday, April 6, 2012.
In the fourth match of Indian Premier League, played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Punjab-c833 in reply were restricted to 160, with IPL debutant, Cooper,
nabbing four wickets while conceding 26 runs from his quota of four overs.
Lauding the efforts of his lads, Dravid said, “It is a fantastic night for us. We executed our plans well. Great to start with a win. It was nice to see the youngsters doing well. Rahane was brilliant. He has worked really hard after being out of the Indian
team. Cooper was a big selection for us and we are happy with the way he has played.”
Rajasthan lost the toss and were forced to have a bat first by Punjab’s skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adam-Gilchrist-c918. The decision back fired for the Australian as Royals got off to a flying start with openers, Dravid and Rahane, amassing 77 runs for the first wicket. With a
solid foundation laid, Royals fancied themselves for a massive total and they eventually reached that.
The Punjab skipper admitted that he made the wrong call by inviting the Royals to bat. Gilchrist was expecting dew to play a major role in the second innings of the game, which it did not.
Hoping to turn things around and get back to winning ways, Gilchrist said, “I got the toss wrong on hindsight. The dew did not turn out to be a factor. We gave away 20-30 runs more than what I thought we should have conceded. We got till the end, but we
were out-played. We now have plenty to work.”
Rajasthan hosts the Kolkata Knight Riders in their next league game while Punjab goes to the Subrata http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Warriors-c861. Both matches will be played on Sunday, April 8.
