The wicketkeeper of the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shreevats-Goswami-c2518 hopes that his experience of playing with the Kolkata Knight Riders would come handy for his current IPL franchise, the Rajasthan Royals when the two teams clash in an IPL5
fixture at Kolkata’s home ground, the Eden Gardens on Friday, April 13, 2012.
The 22-year-old wicketkeeper batsman from http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bengal-c771, who played for the Rajasthan Royals in the first three seasons of the IPL, had a stint with the Kolkata Knight Riders last season, before moving back to the Royals this year.
The left-hander said that having played last season for Kolkata, he knows their game plan and he hopes to relish the ‘home conditions’ as well in Friday’s match.
"I am very hopeful of my performance in this year's IPL,” said the diminutive Bengal gloveman.
“I am used to the conditions and it's like when in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ajinkya-Rahane-c970 tells us about the conditions there. I'm happy to share my experience with the teammates. I know their gameplan, the conditions,” he added further.
The left-handed wicketkeeper batsman is anticipating a slow and turning wicket at Eden Gardens.
“Eden is always a bit of slow and turn. I don't think we can expect anything better," said Goswami when asked about the Eden pitch.
Rajasthan Royals, the champions of the inaugural IPL tournament, have had a triumphant start to the latest edition, winning both their opening matches convincingly before failing to defeat the Mumbai Indians. Dravid’s decision to field first seemed to have
backfired but Goswami feels that the hosts changed the track at the last moment without informing them.
"We were expecting the ball to turn, that's why we wanted to chase," said Goswami defending his skipper’s decision to field first.
Goswami also lavished praise on http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rahul-c83321 Dravid’s captaincy and believes that he is lucky to play under the former Indian batting stalwart and skipper.
"Dravid is a great person and very approachable. He gives space to every cricketer…people say he doesn't talk much but he gives space to the players," he said.
The last match played between the two sides was at Jaipur last week, and the Rajasthan Royals won by 22 runs.
