IPL5: We were a bit rusty in the IPL opener, admits CSK skipper MS Dhoni – Cricket News Update
Pleased with his side’s massive 74-run win over Deccan Chargers in an IPL  encounter at Visakhapatnam on Saturday, the Chennai skipper, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 admitted that the side being rusty was the reason behind their 8-wicket
defeat in the curtain raiser against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 Indians.
Chennai Super Kings, the two time IPL champions, fell cheaply against a formidable Mumbai side in the opening game of the latest edition of the lucrative league which kick started at Chepauk last Wednesday.
The star-studded CSK line-up could amass just 112 runs in that match before being bundled out on the second last ball of the innings. In reply http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Richard-Levi-c2315 led a successful chase for Mumbai with a whirlwind 35-ball 50, as the tourists
chased down the gettable target with eight wickets and 19 balls to spare.
However, in Saturday’s IPL encounter against Chargers, Chennai looked like the Champions as they posted a competitive 193-run total on the board before rolling over the opposition line up for just 119 in the 18th over,
to seal a convincing 74-run.
"It's always good to be on the winning side,” said Dhoni speaking to the media reporters at the post-match press conference. “We were a bit rusty in the first match, but the boys executed the plans well today to put up a big score,"
he added further.
Dhoni revealed that a 190 plus total was not on his mind.
"We were looking something around 150-160 to defend. We were not sure about the dew factor but still managed to get 190," said the Ranchi wicketkeeper batsman.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJ-Bravo-c1379 (43 off 18) blazed away with the bat scoring at a strike-rate of above 150 to take the side to an intimidating total. Jadeja’s left-arm spin fetched him a five-wicket haul as well,
as he was adjudged Man on the Match.
The Deccan skipper, Cameron White, also lavished praise of Jadeja for his match-winning all-round performance.
"Jadeja played really well. We are a young team and Chennai are an excellent side," said White who is standing for Kumara Sangakkara busy in national duty.
Chennai will next play http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Delhi-c780 on Tuesday, April 10, 2012.
