IPOD Classic Can you download videos on it?

Question

will i be able to download (i mean from limewire utoreent etc not itunes) avatar episodes i dont have one yet and i was wondering if i have to convert my videos etc. Also can you give me pointers on how to keep my IPOD from breaking

iPod can only support mpeg4 video.
