IPhone 3G: My text messages won't ding.?

I have the vibrate switch set to ring, I have the "Bell" sound assigned to my texts, I have both vibrate buttons set to "off" in the sounds menu, and my texts will not ding.

  1. Goto Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset All Settings

    That should restore your SMS sounds.

    I'm not sure what the cause is though.
