IPhone 3G Optus Plan ?

I was looking on the optus website about the new iphone 3g i have been waiting for it to come out for a long time...... since i live is Australia. anyway i was looking at the plans for the mobile. i thought is it cheeper to buy a iphone 3g at a apple dealer/original dealer or should i buy one from optus could you please tell me and i would like a 16 gig one as well

because you get internet download, phone call all for $79 per month for 24-months = 1896

iphone today 8gb=$849 u will at least call and download 1047 over 2 years very good deal

or

virgin 70 over 24 months = 1680
