IPhone 3g jailbreak problems...?

Question

i jail broke my 3g; in doing so, i lost all my contacts (phone numbers). is there a way i can get them back without re- adding them manually? whenever the jail break process finished. i did what the program told me to do. i tried to backup from a previous sync, and a message appeared saying that i couldn't back it up ... help please!

try renaming the iphone to your previous name.. like if you used iPhone 3G.. but after you jailbroke it.. its Apple iPhone 3G.. rename it back.. then restore from back up.. but then again.. its if you sync your contacts.. backup backs up texts and settings..
