IPhone SDK - opening up other applications?

I have seen some third party application for iPhone terminating itself and opening up another application.

e.g. SNS mixi application terminates itself and opens up Safari application with mixi's URL

How do I code that in the SDK? What I would like to do is to open up the Maps application.

Please be conscious of the agreement that you signed with Apple when you got the SDK.  It states that you must not discuss the process of creating programs for the iPhone.
