IPhone/iTunes question? Please help.?

Well, my mom just got a iPhone 8GB. I have a iTouch, so I have my iTunes thing set up. Well, i set up a diff thing for the phone on my itunes, but it's a different section, i guess. It's under "Devices" and says "....'s iPhone" and has a drop down arrow with Music, Movies, TV Shows and Ringtones, but... when I try to drag and drop songs from Limewire onto "Music" it wont work. It just shows the little circle with a line through it.

Can anyone tell me how to take music from limewire and put it on the iPhone, but without putting it on my iTouch also?

Limewire and other free sites are illegal and unsafe.

There are two possible answers to this, one is make sure itunes is set to 'manual manage music'. You can do this under the summary tab. The option will allow you to drag and drop songs directly to the iphone. The other possible solution is that the songs are not in the correct format. But if they go on the ipod then they should go on the iphone, sense they both play the same formats. Your itouch maybe set to manual rather auto sync each; device can be set differently. If you set one the other will remain as it is.
