I Have an jailkbroken 16gb old version American iphone with a Tim simcard, and i had a 1.1.4 firmware running and when the 2.0 firmware came out stupidly i decided to attempt an update to the 2.0 firmware via iTunes, so as soon as i started the process iTunes put it in Recovery mode and soon after that it gave me an error message that there was an error...

Im now stuck with an iPhone in recovery mode, and i tried pretty much everything such as setting it to Dfu mode and restoring it to all firmwares from 1.0.2 till 1.1.4 but iTunes persistently gives me different error messages such *** (1) (6) (1604) (18)

Anyone please give me a solution to this dilemma since im stuck with a S****y old Nokia and i payed about 500 euro for that iPhone.

Thank you people in advance.

  1. There's a long process to downgrading from 2.0 to 1.1.4 (which you need to do in order to relock the iPhone, then upgrade to 2.0, then unlock that).

If you are interested then feel free to email.

The reason why you can't is because the 2.0 firmware uses a different baseband (like how the upgrade from 1.02 to 1.1.1 does). This is why you can't downgrade from 2.0 directly. You'd have to erase the baseband. The entire process will take three restores.
