IPhone won't update "can't connect to iTunes Store"?

Question

This morning I tried to restore my iphone using iTunes 7.6 and then once it got almost restored it started to connect to iTunes Store and it got an error "Could not connect, check network connection. Make sure SSL 3.0 is enabled in Internet Options etc." I checked and it was enabled. I then updated to iTunes 7.7. Rebooted both iPhone and Computer and tried to restore again "Could not connect to iTunes Store, try again later."

Anyone have this issue and found a working fix?

They are probablt having problems because of the iphone release today. Try in a few days.

Itunes has been down for most of today due to the 3G coming out today

Same problem here with no help at all from apple.  My phone is not working now!

man I'm going tru the same thing i called the store but they said just keep trying

when i picked up my phone this morning @1030 est. they told me not even the at&t stores could get in because of overload on the itunes site. they told me to keep trying thru out the day. i actually had to update to 7.7 and it took me over an hour to be able to connect enough to download the update. i have the same message pop up now. all i can say is keep trying. eventually your computer will find an opening in the network to connect thru. good luck.
