IPhoto 08 movies not compatible for import into iMovie 08?

Everything I've been able to find has told me that my videos in iPhoto imported from my camera or camera phone should be automatically available in iMovie 08. However, they are not. I've tried everything to get those movies into iMovie for use in projects, etc. When I drag and drop (or attempt to), I get a message that my iPhoto videos are not compatible with iMovie. But the videos are quicktime movies and the iLife tutorials show that quicktime movies are able to be imported. The only videos I see are videos taken with my MacBook camera... I'm not incredibly computer savvy and have just recently switched from PC to Mac and I love it, but this has had me baffled for several months now. Any advice as to how I can (at no charge!) get my iPhoto movies into iMovie 08? I have Mac OS X 10.5.4. Operating Leopard. Thanks in advance!

  1. Try running the clips through a converter like:

    http://media-convert.com/

    Select .mov as your output.
