IPod Nano help - how do you drag notes into iPod?

On the Extras menu on the Nano it says Notes - you can drag text documents, and on the information page also on the Nano it says you can do this through iTunes, but there isn't an option on iTunes. Please help! Also, my iPod isn't recognised in My Computer when hooked up by USB. Thanks

install the latest version of itunes.

reset your ipod then connect it to a running itunes when it lights up.

enable disk mode on the nano then drag .txt files into the notes folder on its disk icon.

these can only be 16k or less otherwise the rest won't be visible.
