IPod Touch: Does the AIM and YOUTUBE apps...?

Does the AIM and Youtube app require being around a wi-fi place? I know AIM on the comp u have to be online but PLEASE ONLYYY

people who have iPod Touch and use the apps answer the question!

I'm already confused as it is.

  1. yep because for example when watch youtube on your computer it uses internet right and so does AIM because your chatting to other and you need internet for that instead get a iphone and use internet everywhere  


  2. Yes u need the wi-fi in order to view YouTube videos. It is downloading the video to a buffer as you view it so u need the wi-fi to be always on. If you lost the wi-fi connection, you can only view up to where it download to the buffer.

  3. OF COURSE YOU NEED WI-FI!

    Wi-Fi is required for everything Internet-Mobile.

    If you didn't have the Wi-Fi, it means that all the Youtube Videos would have to be downloaded to your iPod, taking up thousands of Gigabytes of space, which is not the case.

    AIM is needed too.

    Wi-Fi is a must for EVERYTHING ON THE TOUCH, except: Music, Videos, Photos, Calculator, Notes, Playing games. I think that's it. The rest need a connection. I'm lucky Toronto has a city wide Wi-Fi network, HA!
