IPod Touch - Very large "other" capacity!!! HEEEELP!

Question

I just purchused an iPod touch just recently ... and already I have come across a very annoying problem. The other day when I synced my iPod, i noticed that the "other" category on the category bar was VERY large ... like 2.68GB! It's taking up a lot of the memory and I cant put any music on.

I would like to know how to fix this without having to update the iPod software (cos my internet is too slow). I am currently on 2.0

Reset your ipod, it clears everthing minus unclearable items

just downloads the update on a friends computer which is faster
