I just got an iPod Touch, and I'm having trouble with the Wi-Fi. I make A network with my Mac, go to the Wi-Fi Tab under Settings, and it shows that the network I just created is there, but when I try and connec to it, it says "Unable to connect to (my network's name here)" Can anyone tell me what the problem is, and how I can fix it? Thanks.

  1. Go into System Preferences.

Go to Sharing and click the check next to Internet Sharing

Choose the type of connection you are using for the Mac's internet. If you use an airport connection this will not work. If you are using airport on the mac, connect using Ethernet.

Click the checkmark next to Airport under the "To Computers using" area

    Hope this Helps!

(This is for leopard, I don't remember if it was the same for Tiger as I didn't need to do this when I had tiger last year)

  2. make sure your mac is able to share networks. it should be under network settings. otherwise connect straight to your wireless router
