My computer recently decided to tick me off and my whole iTunes library was erased...my iPod Nano, however, still has all the files I need. When I tried to import my iPod into the library, it would only allow contacts, notes, other stuff I don't use, and (strictly) music purchased from the iTunes store. All the music I've burned from CD's won't go into the library. What is this madness?

  1. When I had the nano i would go to file add new folder and under my computer it would list the nano just click on it and it should do it idk about the new ones cuz with my touch you cant do that so it might not let you but its worth a try or you can buy the software to do it.

  2. itune blocks this function since itune is the tool with one way to transfer files from itune to ipod. you must utilize other tools to achieve that. There're couple of tools for transferring the files between ipod and computer (for backup)depends on your demands, e.g transfer only songs/videos, transfer photos etc. You can have a look of below review site, hope it useful.

  3. It's a limitation Apple put on the iPod as a requirement from the Music industry. You can get around the limitation though with 3rd party software. There is a good tutorial and a download link here:
