  1. When your i pod syncs it matches the i-pod to the computer so if you had 800 songs from somewhere else it will erase them all and only put what you have on i tunes on your computer. it really sucks, happened to me.

  2. They're still in your itunes folder. go to Documents -> Itunes or go to the Purchased file in iTunes if you bought them, as opposed to shareware.

If you used LimeWire, then they should be under the Limewire section of your iTunes. Same for Bearshare etc.

  3. Well, if all the songs on your pod were bought from itunes or you ripped them from a CD using itunes but you erased them from the tunes list, the songs themselves may still be on your PC. Go to the 'my documents' folder and select the 'my music or music' folder and then select 'itunes' itunes, by default, will put all your files here, that is if you did buy them or ripped them, in itunes. You can shut off the auto sync feature by "checking" the manual manage music box located under the summary tab that appears in itunes when you plug in the ipod. When you check the manual manage music then auto sync will shut off and your itunes library doesn't need to sync with ipod and you can put whatever songs you want in itunes and drag and drop the songs onto the ipod as you desire. As for the songs that are lost, if they are not located in that file I mentioned then they are."I'm sorry to say" gone. If you did buy them from itunes you can go into itunes and select the buy button of a song you already bought and itunes 'may' remember you and state, "that you already bought the songs and would you like to re-download it (free), of course, say, "yes". But itunes has a limited memory and if its been awhile that may not work.

  4. resync your ipod and hey get a new one for free
