IPod/laptop checks at Canada/US border?

Has anyone heard about this? (If not, google it)

So, I was wondering if anyone has been through the border with their laptop/iPod since May? when this new rule was implemented...are the checks just random? Or do they rummage through everyone's car looking for these things?

I personally think this is a bit ridiculous -- invasion of privacy for this matter.

It is a random check, but be prepared. I know someone whose laptop was confiscated and checked because they found pornography on it, and wanted to make sure all of the actors in the pornography were of legal age.

Best to delete anything questionable and be prepared just in case they check!
