IPod troubles? Skipping songs?

My iPod nano 1st generation, has like 30 songs where it skips to the next song without finishing it. They all change at different times too. My sister has the same iPod and we use the same iTunes but hers is fine. Do I need to buy a new iPod or how do I fix it. Why is it doing it? and info is execpted!

Hmm that's odd. though tons of the 1st generation ipods are having trouble so don't be worried.

You might try hitting that button that says Restore. my ipod had a bunch of problems [same ipod] and eventually i took it in to Best Buy and i guess i had a warrenty on it so i got this ipod with 4 more gigs for free..

Conclusion: you should get a warrenty if you can't fix it and get a way better pod free!

I think you should first take it back to the retailer and discuss the problem.  Preferably you will be talking with the person who sold it to you.  If you have tried everything you can, you have nothing to lose.  You might get another one, or else you might get the kind of advice that will enable you to fix it.

Check the batteries first, however.  Try replacing the batteries with new ones.  It might sound simplistic, but it might be what works.
