How does one go about taking an IQ test not through their high school? I have no idea where to get started but I would just like to know my IQ.

  1. There can be variance in IQ scores depending on who's administering it. It tends to be expensive outside of the school system. Don't do online testing, it's not reliable. The High School  psychologist would do it if you're struggling in class. I don't know where you'd get one otherwise. I think the military ASVAB test has something similar to an IQ test portion. The line score is GT, I believe.

  2. Alot of times there are ads for IQ testing and there are also some sites you can go to online to test your IQ like... www.thefreeIQtest.com

  3. Online tests aren't good.  They're really entertainment.  To get a real score, you can go to your local community college, or a university educational psychology office.   They will be able to counsel you about your results too, whether they are normal, high or low.

The Mensa test is okay, but they won't give you a score--only a pass/fail for membership.

  4. Why is it that important to you?

  5. Not sure on how official it is, but this is the first one that came to mind:

  6. Yes actually there are alot of places online that you can take an IQ test. For instance, try this website: http://www.funeducation.com/

Another cool test is the Myers Briggs Test- it's a personality test that tells you how extroverted or introverted etc. Also, It can tell you what kind of career would suit you best, It's pretty interesting!

Some of the Myers Briggs websites have options to take an IQ test as well. Try this website if your interested in taking the personality test.
