I receive spousal support as my sole source of income.

On the green sheet of paper they sent me saying there was a problem with my filing they have checked box #5 which states:

The return you filed contains no dollar amounts. If this is a claim for the Economic Stimulus Payment and you filed a Form 1040, please provide the appropriate dollar amounts on line 7, 20a and/or 66b. If you filed a Form 1040a, please provide the appropriate dollar amounts on lines, y, 14a and/or 40b. If you filed a blank Form 1040EZ to claim the Economic Stimulus Payment, please complete the enclosed Form 1040A. If this is a normal filing and you are claiming wages/earned income and/or withholding and/or tax, please see taxpayer instructions for completing your return. Instructions for completing tax returns are found on the internet, the site confuses me. Blah blah blah….. I’m confused. Help me, someone who knows what I need to do and can tell me in regular lingo, help me please! Do I need to enter as my wages, my spousal support income for 2007? On line 7 it says wages, salaries, tips, etc. Attach form(s) W-2. I don’t have a W-2. HELP!!!!!

  1. spousal support usally means Alimony which is listed on Line 11 of the 1040. It is taxable income to you. depending on your particular circumstances, you may owe taxes. There is no place on the 1040A to put Alimony.
