I sent my W2 form to IRS last April, but they just sent it back to me on today. On the top of the form, there was a stamp mark and it looked like Correct. There was no information what should I do with this and what was wrong with this form. Does anybody know about this?

  1. The IRS didn't send it to you, your employer sent you a corrected W-2.  Now you need to look at your tax return and see if there is any material difference in the amounts reported.  If there is, you will need to file an amended return using Form 1040-X.

  2. The IRS does not send W-2 form out to individuals.  It is most likely that what you received is a "CORRECTED" W-2 from from your employer.  The purpose for sending you this form is that they made some change in what they have reported to the IRS.  You need to compare this to your original W-2 from that employer.  If the change makes any difference in the amount of tax you owe or refund you may have you need to file an amendment.
