  1. No, U.S. History just focuses on the history of that one country where as American History is about the history of the American continents.  When I had that class it went into detail about the Aztecs & Incas etc. more so than the U.S.

  2. no

  3. American history predates the founding of the United States.

  4. yeah

  5. american history and us history, generally they are the same. In college there may be two different levels of history classes. One is an advanced history course for honors students or people trying to get a certain major. The other is easier for people who don't care but just need to satisfy a history requirement.

  6. Absolutely not. By definition, American History covers the history of the entire Western Hemisphere -- North America, Central America, South America, and the islands of the Caribbean. United States history is a "subset" of American History, just as Brazilian History, Mexican History, and/or Jamaican History are. And, just for further clarification, the history of the United States didn't begin until almost 100 years AFTER the history of Mexico, Peru, Brazil, etc. began. Those regions of America were colonized by Europeans in the 1500s, while what is now the United States didn't have a European colony until the 1600s.

  7. Yes.  We here in the old U.S. of A. are arrogant enough to claim the name of two continents.

  8. No it isn't. I took both in high school,American History is bout America more than any where else in the world. The events are eventually going to come together to make the two subjects seem the same, but unfortunately they aren't. U.S. History is more about the world than just The United States of America!

Both subjects are pretty much the same but when concentrated on the work enough, the difference is actually noticeable!
