IS AN ANT A DECOMPOSER?

It came out in my Science test and we are currently arguing on whether an ant is a decomposer...is it or is it not?

  1. Never and no.

    A decomposer is either bacteria or fungi. Other organism such as fly only break them down so that this process is faster.  


  2. It only eat sweet objects but it doesnt mean they decompose stuff

  3. isn't an ant a living thing? (regardless of the size) yes it is. you are talking about the living ant right?

  4. i'd say yes. by eating stuff it helps to break the stuff down too. it's not just ants in your house... in nature they actually consume stuff like other dead animals also?
