with UFC taking over boxing seems to be pretty much over. The biggest boxing fight of the year was a snooz fest. Boxers will be trying to get into the UFC as soon as they realize their sport in finished and when they realize that it takes way more skill for MMA it will be really over.

  1. So which MMA fighter can make 20 million dollars a fight again? Oh sorry I guess that would be none. d**n for a dying sport boxers sure do rake in the money.

  2. so pacquiao marquez and vasquez marquez were snooze fests. come back when you know what your talking about

  3. Boxing and UFC are like apple and orange. I enjoy both and boxers still make more money at the top than MMA.

  4. i think so...this new fighting has caught on!

  5. the sport is finished but not the practice people will still go to their boxing gyms because boxing is an excellent form of conditioning and self defence on the streets but the sport died out due to ufc and yes many boxing champs went to the mma and got their *** kicked when they found it is alot mor than standup competion becuase a  boxer on his back is like turtle boxing is still popular but not as strong as it once was it will never be as strong as it was 20 years ago  because there is no big fighters that attract huge crowds like the mma does

  6. SOME PEOPLE LIKE MMA MORE BUT FIGHTERS STILL EARN BIGGER PAY DAYS

  7. Boxing is not finished and it will never be finished and it will ALWAYS be better than UFC.  In MMA, everytime there is a "fight" all they do is go to the ground and hold each other to the point where it looks like they are lovers and they do this until somebody quits.  Boxing is so much more entertaing than that because in boxing they actually FIGHT.  The biggest boxing event of last year was De La Hoya vs. Mayweather, and yes it was boring, but look at all of the great fights that occured last year- Vazquez vs. Marquez, Pavlik vs. Taylor, Cotto vs. Mosley, Cotto vs. Judah, Mayweather vs. Hatton, just to name a few, and there have already been a lot of great fights this year.  And all of the fights I mentioned were lightyears better and more entertaining than anything that the UFC will ever have to offer.  And you mention skill- when it comes to this, every top boxer is a million times more skilled than any top MMA fighter- UFC is truthfully only a small step above WWE with all of the ground holding that goes on.  I'm sorry but thats not skill, thats just a crappy, boring way to win a "fight."

  8. why talk about boxing when you obviously don't watch it you say the biggest boxing fight of the year was a snooze fest what fight would that be then maybe it was the Manny Pac Man vs Marquez ll or maybe it was Marquez vs. Vasquez III listen boxing will never be finished and as for the ufc taking over don't make me laugh

don't get me wrong i like watching the ufc and yes a boxer would probably get owned if he went into the ufc just like a mma guy would get owned if he went into boxing

come back when you know what your talking about

  9. wow ur a moron, so far this year their has been 4 great fights  and all of them were more entertaining then any ufc fight this year and I'm also an mma fan. And no boxer will go to mma because the money is in boxing buddy!!

  10. Boxing is not finished and it won't be finished and ufc is not better than boxing, ufc is more like rolling on the ground without any real skills, boxers are much more skilled than mma fighters, boxing needs real skills, rolling on the ground doesn't need any skill, and there were many great fights this year and upcoming fights that sure will be great

  11. yeah, ever since pbf came to town. he made boxing uglier than ever which makes some people think boxing has already passed. Also, today's heavyweight, which in my opinion is the worst batch ever. Good thing there are still names as pacquiao, cotto, linares etc. who will rescue us in this kinda dumb situation.

  12. No. Boxing has been around longer then any other sport, It brings in millions of millions of millions of billions of dollars to the ppv market, it brings record number packed stadiums it makes alot of very powerful people very very weather, there would be a blood bath war if someone tried to sink boxing.

UFC has been around a couple of days in comparison and is already starting to stale, with quick stoppages, horrible fights, and all their big stars losing.  Also UFC is not a sport, its a tv show and sometimes PPV event like wwe. Mixed Martial arts is a sport, UFC is like circus with a roster of fighters much like wwe.

Boxing also always goes through stale area's where you get a few good fights, and a couple mega fights. Then a fighter comes along and blows everyone away and the sport gets rejuvenated again. Plus we still have some of the best fighters of all time still fighting each other, with new legends taking their place.  The only thing hurting boxing is the fact they dont let you see alot of big fights for free so its hard to bring a new audience, if they start to get in trouble they will bring boxing back to nbc, cbs and repeat the process.

You want to see an up coming heavyweight who looks like he might run through the division check out David Rodriguez he has all the tools.

  13. No, not yet.  It just needs a savior - someone with the talent and charisma of an Ali or a Ray Leonard who'll make the sport alive again.   Also, boxing must be rid of greedy and self-serving promoters like Don King who always try to manipulate the whole fight game.
