  1. Bread is not vegan. You could make your own with soy milk and other substitutes though. Here's a recipe:

  2. A regular loaf of bread is just 4 ingredients- flour, water, yeast, and salt- none of which contain any animal products or milk.

Usually sweet breads will contain milk, butter, etc. However, a plain loaf of bread will just have those 4 ingredients. Try another bakery or market and ask them for a listing of ingredients

  3. There actually are Vegan Breads, here is a list of some:

    Dutch Country Soft Potato Bread

    Dutch Country Whole Wheat

    Pepperidge Farm Dark Pumpernickel Bread

Thomas New York Style Bagels (Blueberry)

This is from Peta's "I Can't Believe it's Vegan List," found at: http://www.peta.org/accidentallyVegan/Ve...

Also, try www.vegweb.com for bread recipes, just look under "popular recipes" and you'll find some really good ones!  In my experience, making your own bread is cheaper, and you can change the recipes around to suit your needs, add what you want, etc.  But, store-bought is definitely more convenient.

  4. No bread isn't vegan, but you could try to go to vegan bakery..if you got one where you are based.
