IS IT COSTLY TO GET A IMPLANT TOOTH?

  1. In the short term yes. In the long run no. You will likely even save money. Don't count on your insurance to cover much of the cost. The other alternative for replacing a missing tooth is a bridge or removable partial denture. Most people don't go for the removable type and get a fixed or cemented bridge. But they don't last forever and if you are young you will like have to have it replaced several times in your life. An implant could last you the rest of your life if you take care of it and have it placed and restored by a competent surgeon/dentist. I would have to say the cost would be in the range of $3500 to $4800 depending on who does it, what area you live in, and the complexity of your case. If you can do it, get the implant because it will save the teeth on either side of the space from needing to be ground down to place a fixed bridge.  


  2. Yes, figure at least a grand per tooth.Also, your gums may not accept the implant.
