Don't take it off but you don't need to use it. As long as the temperature doesn't reach zero, which it probably won't in LA, there is no reason to use your thermostat. As long as you are comfortable without it the only reason to use it would be to prevent your pipes from freezing.

it wont hurt the engine, but you wont have a heater

I would not do it for a long time,it does help to keep your cars engine running cooler, you will also need it for the winter time , without it your heater will take a longer time to heat up.,beside's it does'nt cost that must .

Unless you drive an older car/truck that's not computer controlled.

first off you cant turn one off.do not remove it.your car needs it to run.

Not a good idea. Without a thermostat, you may never warm up enough fir the vehicle to go into closed loop, so say goodbye to your fuel economy, and your computer will always think the engine is cold....how does it fix this? It adjusts the fuel trim.....say goodbye to your fuel economy. This is a bad idea, don't try it.
