By the look of all the dead large screen plasma TVs sold as faulty on Ebay, I'm guessing repair isn't a viable option.

From a technical point of view, perfectly feasible.

From a financial point of view, a total waste of money (a new TV will be much cheaper).

it is possible to get them fixed but it costs as much as new one!

best is to buy an new one and make the shop take the old one back as they have to under the WEE regulations. and insist they do otherwise it can cost upto a £100 to take it to a tip now!

if you have house contents insurance get it repaired on that , if it can't be repaired they give you a new one and you only have an excess to pay which is between £50 and £100 and is much cheaper than paying for the repair yourself,   if you haven't got insurance get some.
