Ok i dont know about what school you guys go to and what school rules you guys got. but my school is kinda harsh in some ways. The just put up a rule 1 year ago banning cell phones ( im in high school by the way) even if they see it hanging from ur belt or waste they will take it and ur parents have to come pick it up. You cant even talk during breaks. Yet you see teachers talking in class and out of class? i dont think its fair. kids should do the same.

Being late/tardy we could get as simple as detention and hard as suspension. But the staff does not do the same with teachers that come in couple of minutes late.

Some teachers dont let you go to the bathroom ? how freakin harsh

espically after lunch and nutrition some people ask and the teacher responds " you were just at break you should of done what you had to do" what if tht person didnt have to use the toilet at the time or what if that person has bladder problems ? they dont think

  1. Wow you just described my school's exact rules. I do think it is to harsh, i mean if they give us more freedom we can learn to become more independent, and i don't think it's right for anybody to take your personal property away, sometimes they act more like cops than teachers so i totally agree with you.

  2. I definitely don't think it's okay to completely ban cell phones for high school students.  What if there was a terrorist, or gunman, or something of the sort (sadly, it's becoming too common these days) on campus?  How would you let everyone know, besides from hearing gun shots?  You could send out a mass text to everyone with a cell phone, then just about everybody would know.  I'm not saying to keep your phone on ring or whatever; just keep it on vibrate.  Either way, though, I feel so much more safe having my phone on me, and I refuse any teacher who won't let me bring it to class.

  3. well, if its a real problem. and you have to use the bathroom that bad. just leave the classroom. i'm sure he/she would rather see you walk out then have to clean up the floor and be moved out of their rooms the rest of the day.

as for the other things, thats pretty common for our school district. Consider yourself lucky with cell phones. Ours have to be in our lockers and off. Locker checks are bi-weekly and random.

  4. The teachers are adults, you're not. The cell phone rule is very fair. As a teenager who or what is so important that you need to be on it at all hours of the day?

The tardiness? Deal with it. Again, they're adults, you're not. It's rude on their part but there's not much you can do about it.

As for the bathroom, legally they cannot force you to hold it. That one you DO have a leg to stand on. I suggest taking that issue to your parents or other trusted adult. Any teacher that does not allow you to use the bathroom could be putting you at risk for a bladder infection.

  5. Those rules apply to almost every school I've ever heard of.

Why do teachers have more rights? They have one or more college degrees.

    Superiority Complex much?

Not letting someone with a bladder problem go is on the extreme side, but in a case like that I'm sure the student would explain.

It's impossible to have an empty bladder before class and have a full bladder 90 minutes later-- Unless you chug a gallon of water at the beginning of class

Yeah, this is perfectly right. Welcome to the world.
