1. Mo Williams certainly isn't less hairy than Larry Hughes. Mo has sasquatch's arms.

Umm, he might be another Larry Hughes honestly. Larry Hughes before he came to the Cavs put some inflated statistics (career highs in points, rebounds, assists, and steals). Mo Williams put up some inflated stats the last 2 years (career highs) by virtue on being some bad Bucks teams (didn't make playoffs last 2 years).

Also, they are similar in their inability to play a full season. Mo's missed approx 15 games the last couple of years due to nagging foot/heel problems.

Being a Bucks fan and one to spot overinflated stats due to playing on bad teams, I wouldn't expect Mo Williams' stats to carry over from the bucks to the cavs. Much like I didn't expect Hughes' stats to carry over either back when he joined the cavs.

Compared to Hughes, Mo Williams is a better scorer and shooter, but he is not as good of a defender. Mo is not a true PG. Don't expect him to be anything like Jason Kidd in terms of court vision or improving the team's offense. He will be a source for points.

I guess I can't erase the image I have of Mo Williams being that guy who comes off the bench to put up some quick points in spurts. The only reason he put up respectable numbers in Milwaukee is because they didn't really have an alternative at PG after they dealt TJ Ford.

So, yeah, Mo Williams might be more of a disappointment than what Larry Hughes was. But, the cavs do need a scorer, Mo Williams can score and shoot fine. Don't expect 17 ppg, I predict 15 tops.

  2. Mo is going to struggle to find his role as a Cav, much like Larry Hughes.

Larry Hughes was a slasher with no jumper, Mo is a shooter who can slash. Hughes is 10X the "me" player Mo Williams is, at least Mo gets assists. And exactly how many assists per game does it take to be a pass first guard? 6? 7? Mo is right there with Chauncey (.5 assists/game less), are you telling me the Cavs would be worse with Chauncey as a starting PG than Delonte West? The Cavs made out like bandits, the Bucks cut some long term payroll and got a TERRIBLE PG back. Ridnour is pass first, but he's just not good. Terrible trade for the Bucks, but at least - for them - Ramon Sessions will be a stud, if Skiles gives him a chance...

  3. He's not the answer to Cleveland winning a title

  4. Nah.. I think Mo will do better in his position, he had trouble with Redd but LeBron is a whole nutha matter.

Mo is younger and can improve, I just have a feeling he'll do well as a Cavalier...

  5. Much better for the cavs than Larry Hughes. Hughes is a walking identity crisis when it comes to which position he plays, and he quickly became maligned in Cleveland for his horrible shot selection from the 1.

The cavs actually remind me of philly when Iverson was in his prime. One guy has basically been the team, while the GMs experiment with second option after second option (I think Iverson + Coleman were for a brief period the highest scoring tandem in the league, with Iverson averaging like 33 and Coleman 15).

But I hope it works out for the cavs, just for variety. Mo Williams is a legit, respected PG coming off a trade that went well for them, so fan support and opportunity should be on his side.

  6. Better

  7. No way, Larry Hughes is not really a point guard and Maurice Williams is. Larry Hughes sucks at shooting and Maurice Williams is a very good shooter.

Plus Maurice Williams is way more consistent. I think he'll help Cleveland a lot.

  8. No Mo Williams isnt another Larry Hughes. They dont even play the same positions. Hughes is a SG and Mo WIll is a PG. Mo can and will put up more points and more assists and i think hes even the better rebounder.

He will be the prayer answered for Lebron.

  9. You heard he is

    I know he is.

  10. mo has a lot better shot selection and better passing. hughes is a good defender though. but i prefer mo williams
