  1. remove the seat and take it to a couple of garages for advice..it might be,might not...no point in worrying untill you find out for deff...

  2. cheese and Denmark mate, get the AA or RAC to examine it and give you a report first ,then proceed on their advice.

  3. Its no good if.ing and are.ing.  Go straight to your nearest police station and ask them to look at it. Show them the weld and get their opinion.   Better to be safe than sorry.  It might be stolen and joined.

                                                               Good Luck...

  4. Have a little poke at this "Weld" it sound more like a bead of sealant, it's has nice neat ripples in it like a weld but it will be softish and you'll be able to poke a dent in it with a small screwdriver.

That's if I'm right of course!

    Good luck

  5. Sounds like a cut and shut to me, report it to the police and tell them where you bought it.

  6. are you in any car brake down service, if you are call them ask them there advice, they may come and see it, or go to your local police station ask them to check it for you, if its a cut and shut they will want to know so they can prosecute the garage.

  7. Most cars are unibody, meaning they are stamped out in a press.Do a title search on the vehicle and find out if it was in an accident. You will have recource on the vendor for not disclosing that information on purchase.

  8. Personally I don't think the police are going to give a toss until you have done some leg work.

First get together all the paperwork you have on the car, old mot's, logbook etc then join the Suzuki forum.

Ask the same question there and try and find out where the cars VIN, chassis and engine numbers are located.

Once you have got all these check them against your paperwork.

You can also run a vehicle check for about £20 which will show, amongst other things, if the car has been written off or scrapped at any time.

Once you have got all the evidence together and if anything is wrong I'd go back to the garage asking for an explanation. I'd also go the full money back route.

If all this fails then it's time to get in touch with the DVLA and trading standards.

  9. It certainly doesn't sound normal to me - pull back the rear door aperture rubbers at their top rear edges & look for a matching weld in the metalwork to confirm.

  10. No vehicle should have a weld across the floor pan they are pressed as one single sheet, go to the garage and ask for your money back, if they refuse go to the police

  11. take it back to the garage and show them its up to them to put right.

  12. Simple answer is Phone Suzuki, as they made the car they'll know if the weld is meant to be there or not.

Suzuki customer services number is : Freephone 0500 011959

Or use this link to email them

  13. Not normal, it's a cut and shut.  You MUST report it to the Police, yes there's a chance the garage didn't know but they may have known about it and could get nasty with you so cut them out of the situation and go straight to the top.

You have the paperwork so contact the Police and tell them everything.  Do not drive the car at all.  Yes, it's held together since January but I personally wouldn't want to drive it again.
