  2. please don't write in all caps, it makes people who read this think your uneducated.

yes the tank is too small.

i would tell you to get a 30 gallon

but i know you cant afford it, if you could you would have bought it.

i feel sorry for fish that are bought by the wrong people.

  3. I think they're okay now, but you should have about a gallon for every inch of fish.  That might be a problem when they grow.  You could take out some gravel and plants though.

  4. This is fine to start.  As was mentioned you will need to upgrade.  While oranda's certainly don't need a 20 gallon for one fish a 10 will do.  Oranda's rarely get over 5-7 inches in length (not including the tail)

A 10 gallon can easily and comfortably house your oranda for his life.  Which is usually around 8-15 years with good care.

  5. Well this is a good tank to start with but in the future a 30-40 gallon tank should be their permanent home.

  6. Will do for now... Need to upgrade fairly soon One oranda will need at least 15 gallons at maturity and 6-10 for each additional...at the very least get a 20 gallon...idealy you will need 30-50 gallon tank.

  7. For now, yes, but you need to consider their growth rate and adult size when getting an appropriate sized tank.  30 gallons would be the minimum for one oranda, with an additional 10 for each additional oranda.

  8. They will be okay for a VERY short time if you a religious about water changes.

People do not realize that a 30- 50 gallon tank is more of a gift to the owner than the fish. Larger tanks are easier to maintain, keep clean, and keep fish healthy in.

You may have a month in this current situation if you monitor your water levels carefully. Start saving for your tank now! It will be one of the better investments you have made.

  9. yup...

but when it grows older...need a bigger tank...

  10. it is too small. each oranda should have at least 20 gallons. Please be aware that you will need to upgrade your tank size fairly soon (they grow fast!) in order to keep them happy and healthy.

    Thank you.
